Which Media is Right for You?

My fine art prints are available on several different media including fine art paper, canvas, Lumachrome Acrylic and ChromaLux Metal Prints.

Fine Art Paper

Images can be printed on a variety of media, but there is typically one media that best conveys your vision of the image. Is your image optimized by using a textured fine art paper, a glossier paper like a baryta or a metallic paper. That is THE question! Limited Edition prints are available on specific archival fine art papers. I select the right paper to optimize the image. Frequently that is a “glossy” baryta paper, e.g. Hanhemuhle Photo Rag Baryta, but it might also be a smooth or textured matte finish paper, e.g. Hahnemuhle German Etching. The image is matched to the paper. These prints have maximum resolution, clarity, smooth tonality and dynamic range giving incredible photo printing quality with a traditional presentation. They are excellent for those big prints you have always dreamed of. This is the least expensive option up front; however, depending on how you frame it there will be additional costs. I use fine art papers and archival inks that should last more than 100 years.

Acrylic Face Mount - Our Most Popular Option

My acrylic face mount prints use the proprietary Lumachrome technology which is engineered to overcome and surpass the limitations of traditional light, laser and inkjet prints. This process brings out unbelievable resolution, clarity, color vibrancy and depth, creating images with three dimensional qualities. Details appear to emerge from the depths of the image due to the Lumachrome transparency layer which is infused with iridium particles and encapsulated in a layer suspended between the poly surface and acrylic. With proper lighting these prints have a radiant glowing response and appear to be backlit, creating the high end gallery look. After the printing and quality control process the image is mounted to optically clear UV filtering acrylic and finished. Lumachrome images are available prepared for  traditional framing and ultra contemporary ultralight .75" Deep or  Deluxe 1.35" deep Italian made ROMA recessed floating frames. Metal Prints

My ChromaLuxe Metal Prints are high gloss state of the art, and use a custom dye sublimation process that infuses the dyes directly into specially coated 1/16” aluminum sheet. Since the image is infused into the metal they appear to be three dimensional. My ChromaLuxe Metal Prints are very scratch resistant, waterproof and easy to maintain. They are then finished with a floating or inset frame depending on size. Ready for display in the finest gallery, my ChromaLuxe Metal Prints on aluminum are available in any/every size up to 48x96, with a wide variety of mounting and hanging options.

MetalPrints have just slightly less resolution and detail than acrylic prints, but maintain the high color depth and contrast. They are the highest in durability and very easy to maintain and clean. Metal prints are less expensive than acrylic. Metal prints have a modern finish and provide good protection against UV and the highest protection from moisture.

Canvas

My canvas prints are created on Breathing Color Lyve canvas. Canvas prints provide a classic art look. Resolution, detail, color depth and contrast are still very high but slightly less than fine art paper, metal and acrylic. Canvas prints can be displayed as a “gallery wrap” or framed. Canvas prints are finished with a protective coating that is water resistant and UV resistant.
